Our rental car rates include basic compensation (for bodily injury, property damage, and personal injury) in the unlikely event of an accident.This means that even if an accident occurs, third-party compensation will be applied, allowing you to use the service with peace of mind.

Basic Compensation
All Surfers Rental Car vehicles come with liability insurance for bodily injury, property damage and personal injury in the event of an accident.
Bodily injury compensation
Compensation for cases where you cause injury or death to others in an accident and are legally liable for damages

Compensation for damages caused to other people's property due to an accident and for which you are legally liable for damages

- 10,000 days if treatment period is less than 5 days

No vehicle compensation
In the event of an accident or vehicle damage,The entire cost of repairs will be borne by the customer.Please drive safely and take care to minimise risk.
Vehicle compensation options
We offer a "Vehicle Compensation Option" to prepare for the unlikely event of an accident. By subscribing to this option, damage to the rental car and repair costs caused by an accident will be compensated.
*However, self-inflicted accidents (single-vehicle accidents) are not covered by the vehicle compensation system.
In the event of a self-inflicted accident, you will be required to pay a deductible of 100,000 yen.

The vehicle compensation is an optional fee that is ¥1,000 per day per rental day, separate from the rental car price.
In the event of an accident, repair costs
Customers will be responsible for a maximum of 100,000 yen (deductible amount).
If the repair cost exceeds the deductible amount, we will cover the difference.
The vehicle insurance option is an option that allows you to enjoy driving with peace of mind.

Non-Operation Charge (NOC)
In the unlikely event of an accident, theft, breakdown, damage, etc., requiring the vehicle to be repaired or cleaned, you will be required to pay the following amount as compensation for loss of business during that time.
- If self-driving, 20,000 yen
- If the vehicle cannot be driven, 50,000 yen
Examples of cases where insurance and compensation systems are not applicable
- If you do not report the accident to the police (if you do not have an accident certificate)
- Accidents caused by someone other than the driver who was designated at the time of departure
- Accidents caused by unlicensed driving
- Accidents caused by drunk driving
- Accidents that occur when the rental period is extended without permission
- Other violations of the terms and conditions of the rental agreement, e.g. leaving the keys in the car and having them stolen
Other items to be borne by the customer
- Flat tire
- Loss or damage to wheel cap only
- Please use our road service or do the work yourself to change to a spare tire.
- If your vehicle does not have a spare tire and has a flat tire, please contact our road service. We will transport your vehicle to the nearest repair shop. (Free of charge if the conditions are met.)
- The customer will be responsible for the cost of repairing a damaged tire, the cost of a new tire and labor if a tire change is required, and the cost of a lost wheel cap. If the wheel is damaged, a non-operation charge will be applied.
- When changing to new tires, please contact the store in advance. In principle, the damaged tires will be replaced with the same type of tires.
